Silver Jewelry

In the Hmong song poetry, it is sung: "In the past, when the sun and moon were made, gold and silver were hammered, and silver flowers scattered the ground, each petal shining brightly. The large ones became stars, the small ones became smaller stars." The deep-rooted attachment to gold and silver among the Hmong people may be difficult for us to fully comprehend. Even when silver was reintegrated into their lives, and despite the necessity of frugality, they were still willing to spend their entire modest savings to own the finest, heaviest silver ornaments to adorn themselves.
